CUSTOMTOOLS Products' Startup Problem on a License Server

Problem Description

If any CUSTOMTOOLS products are installed to the CUSTOMTOOLS network license server, the products fails to start properly because of a failure to establish connection to the License Server. Errors shown in the following example pictures appear.

Problem Cause

This problem is caused because the License Manager Machine information is missing from the Windows Registry. Because of the missing registry information, CUSTOMTOOLS does not know where to request a floating license from.

Solution

You can solve the problem with help of the following instructions:

  1. Run the Windows Registry Editor
  2. Locate the following key in the Registry Editor
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATR Soft\CustomTools\Security
  3. Double click the value called LicenseManager Machine to open it for editing
  4. In the Value data box, type the host name or, the IP address of your CUSTOMTOOLS License Server and then click OK
  5. Close the Windows Registry Editor and try again to run a CUSTOMTOOLS product
